    Close to Midnight

    Oooook! Here we go.

I've (finally, I hope). managed to end the mastering of this track and here it is.

As I mentioned in the shoutbox, it is a track I composed and recorded/mixed a couple of years ago which about a month or so ago I foolishly decided to re-mix.

In the process I ended up rewriting and changing the cellos, swapping the hand-held real drum for StudioDrummer (and write the midi score for it). I re-recorded the bass guitar, re-recorded the solo electric, changed all el. gtrs amps/cabs (thanks to Amplitube) and changed the piano too.
All this even before messing with the various plugins, effects and volume faders.

First track below is the original mix (2011) while the second is the new one.
    Enjoy

    Wow!

Sometimes, often perhaps, when I listen to a piece of music, I get nothing. Other times, when I hear a song - I see pictures. Images pop into my head like I'm watching a movie. Only the 'good' pieces of music do this to me.

Both versions of your tune filled my head with images moose. This is a good thing.

Thank you for giving me that pleasurable experience and thanks for uploading both versions. I like them both for different reasons.

    tB.

Thank you theBadger. I really appreciate your support

I must add that when I wrote the track I had this "vision" of a slow train going through the night... and the changes in the track reflected the changes of the scenery one could see looking out of the window...

Great stuff, i also like both versions and i think every second you put into your remix was worth the effort.

The style is pretty cool too, makes me wanna sit in a saloon with ya'll and have a beer and shout yeehaw every now and then

Awesome new years surprise, thanks for sharing it with us!

    Thank you alphatones.
I am glad this track meets your liking.

Your comment is interesting because when I recorded this the last thing I had in mind was cowboys and saloons. Never occurred to me that I was writing a western movie score
