I`m doomed, many a night ive practised into the late hours with my cans on only to realize later when i take them off i forgot to mute the speakers !
LOL guys, and now imagine we would live in a crazy worldA 27-year-old Spanish pianist learned practicing her chops was more than a petty nuisance for her nerve-wracked neighbor. Following a legal complaint, the Catalan musician is facing seven-and-a-half years in jail for the crime of noise pollution.
Laia Martin, a concert pianist from the northeast Spanish town of Puigcerda, has been officially charged with creating noise pollution and causing "psychiatric injury", the El Pais newspaper reports.
The plaintiff, identified only as Sonia B, claimed she was forced to endure her downstairs neighbor’s 8 hour marathon sessions five-days-a week between October 2003 and September 2007. At the time, Martin, who now plays professionally, was enrolled in music college.
Sonia B told the court she now hates pianos and was ultimately forced to move out. She claims the music affected her sleeping, led to nervousness, anxiety, panic attacks and contributed to the town’s noise pollution.
Martin denies she played at home so frequently, saying she often left town to take lessons.
If found guilty, she could be sentenced to six years for the crime of creating noise pollution, and a year-and-a-half for causing mental anguish. She could also be barred from playing for 4 years.
A Catalonia Justice Tribunal spokeswoman told the daily, on condition of anonymity, that the trial would proceed on Tuesday and is set to conclude on Friday.

There will come a time when you've tried everything you're not and the only thing left will be what you are

The Badger has really understanding neighbours. Last week I put on a charity event in my field* for over 500 people. There was live music, fireworks and a fairground. It was quite noisy. Very noisy actually; for 25 minutes there was a professional fireworks display that was extremely noisy.
It's called 'fair use'.
I am allowed to make a bit of noise for one evening provided it is reasonable and fair. I have to get a license from the local council and there are some conditions that have to be met.
This is very different to making a noise nuisance all day every day. If I were to continuously blast the first four notes of Beethoven's 5th on my flugelhorn through my neighbour's letterbox for eight hours a day then they might be less tolerant.
I eagerly await further news of this trial. Was Senorita Pianoforte being reasonable or infuriating? The trial is next week. If anyone finds out what the jury's verdict is before I do, then please post it here.
tB.
*Yes, I really do live in a field; about seven acres (2.8 hectares). It's not just badger tales. There is some woodland, a large wildflower meadow and there really is a riverbank with tasty voles, wild foxes, birds, butterflies and bats, cute deer and everything. Sometimes it is like waking up in a children's book.
Prison for noise pollution? wtf????
Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Germany, Australia, USA....so many countries falling into 1984 agenda
