In the world of books... You don't have to be a great literary writer to have a top selling novel.

With all respect to J.K.Rowling, the Harry potter series is not a work of high art. But it is good fun and very successful, having sold umpty squillions of books, films, action figures and exquisitely detailed plastic broomsticks.

The Da Vinci code, The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care (by Dr Spock, 1946) and even Charlotte's Web (a children's book) have sold in excess of 50,000,000 copies.

If you get it right, writing books can be very profitable.

Similarly, music can be profitable. Just ask Lionel Richie or Elton John.

The trick is: Producing the right book/song at the right time.

If you can figure out the right formula for either of these genres... you could be rich.
