Our friends at Source Distribution have let us know that Rode have announced 3 new products at NAMM 2015 this year, a new 2.4GHz digital radio mic system, 2 shotgun mics and a ribbon mic.
RØDE NTR Ribbon Microphone
RØDE tell us that this was a labour of love for Peter Freedman, the microphone is entirely designed and manufactured at RØDE’s headquarters in Sydney including the ribbon element itself and even the transformer. RØDE’s aim with the NTR was to create the finest ribbon microphone ever made available and we believe we have succeeded.
The UK Price will be around £599 inc VAT and the NTR is starting to ship now with stocks in store expected in early March. You can find out more on the Rode web site and watch a video here.
RØDE NTG4 & NTG4+ Shotgun Microphones
RØDE also announced two new shotgun microphones – the NTG4 and NTG4+. Positioned between the NTG1/2 and the NTG3, these mics are designed to offer incredible performance at their price point, with filters and EQ available on the body of the microphone. A world first, the NTG4+ features an inbuilt lithium battery that provides over 150 hours of operation from a two hour charge using the supplied Micro USB cable.
The UK price of the NTG4 will be around £259 inc VAT with the NTG4+ around £299 inc VAT and they are starting to ship now with stocks in store expected in early March.
RØDELink Wireless Audio Systems and Kits
The RØDELink, a fully-digital wireless audio system. RØDELink will be sold as systems with receiver and transmitter combinations relevant to a specific application. All systems will operate using a series II 2.4GHz digital transmission with 128-bit encryption, allowing it to constantly monitor and hop between frequencies to maintain the strongest possible signal level at a range of up to 100 metres (over 100 yards). This is important because this spectrum is used for other uses.
The first RØDELink product to be available at retail is the Filmmaker Kit, consisting of a camera-mounted receiver, beltpack transmitter and the RØDE Lavalier microphone. You can watch a video here.
Pricing has not been confirmed yet and it is expected that the Filmmaker Kit will start shipping in early March and be in stores in May 2015.
