Avid update DAW with 64-bit audio engine and offline bounce
Avid's industry-standard digital audio workstation, Pro Tools, has received a significant performance upgrade in the shape of the new 64-bit Avid Audio Engine. Support for 64-bit operation brings the DAW up to date with its competitors, and allows greater amounts of system memory to be addressed, making larger sessions with more virtual instruments and plug-ins possible. Avid claim the new Avid Audio Engine also delivers multiple times the processing power of Pro Tools 10.
