Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring all your files anywhere. This means that any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, phones and even the Dropbox website. A Dropbox folder is created on the computer you installed the Dropbox. The Dropbox folder will automatically be synchronized per LAN with your other computers (if you installed Dropbox there too and have enabled LAN sharing) and your online Dropbox. Dropbox is also available for Mac, Linux, and Mobile. A free Dropbox can have up to 16 GB space.
The Dropbox folder works like a normal Windows folder. You can give access to a friend to a specific folder, by inviting him per email.
Now you can start working on a project together and share your files with Dropbox.
I advise, not to put the files from the Dropbox folder into your sequencer, but copy them to your project folder first, because if the other person deletes the file, it will be missing in your project. This is much easier than ftp or any other upload service, since you can share the files directly within Windows and don't have to start a ftp-client or a browser to use a filesharing service. You can also create public links in your Dropbox, to share it with anyone, without having to give specific access or invite someone. |
