I know there’s a way to keep your automation but bump the overall track level up or down, but here’s a quick way I just thought of. It was my “duh” moment because I never thought of it before. If you’ve added volume automation to a track, but need to turn the whole track up or down while keeping your relative automation movements, just open the last plugin in your inserts (or add a simple 1-band EQ if there are no plugins in that channel), and use the output gain as the overall volume control. Boom. Done.
