Director of AIR Music Technology Departs InMusic

We’ve just heard that Wolfram Knelangen, Director of AIR Music Technology at inMusic, is to leave; this follows the recent departures of Samara Winterfeld and Tim Adnitt. All three were core to the development of Ignite and AIR instruments.
It does leave one asking a number of questions, most of which surround the future of AIR instruments. I have been assured that they do have a future, but the recent dealings over licence transitions from Avid to inMusic have caused many to question inMusic’s commitment to the AIR Instruments and the user base, many of whom have invested a great deal into the products over the years.
One also has to ask how so many talented people can leave in such a short time? In the words of Oscar Wilde, “To lose one parent may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.”
We do hope we will see some concrete development soon from the inMusic camp. There were already concerns about their commitment to AIR, these events do not help allay those concerns. Discuss.
