They say: DRUM LAB combines the organic, expressive sound of acoustic drums with the weight and punch of electronic samples.
I say: DRUM LAB combines the organic, expressive sound of acoustic drums with a slightly annoying clicky sound.
Although, to be fair, it kind of works. The annoying clicky sound is annoying but seems to define individual beats quite well. I'm sure when they release Drum Lab 2 it will be very impressive, if it can catch up with Drumm which uses a similar technique to make drum sounds that are so huge that there is barely any room to mix in an asthmatic gnome on helium playing piccolo thru his nose.
Drum Lab comes with 900 grooves, or for 50 quid* you could just hire a drummer.
* plus the cost of a colouring book to keep him occupied while he's not drumming.
